On Wednesday July 28th, the Dogeparty founders Ryan Baptiste (Xcer), Jeremy Johnson (Jdog), and Javier Varona, along with community director Ernest Sonyi, joined a video call with select members of the Dogecoin Foundation, led by Timothy Stebbing (Dogecoin Foundation Director) to discuss potential collaboration opportunities between the two groups.
The call began with Timothy explaining that part of the Dogecoin Foundation’s mission was to advocate for and support any development on Dogecoin. It aims to improve community relations, break down barriers, and foster an environment of collaboration among developers working on new Dogecoin-related projects. The Dogecoin Foundation intends to accomplish this by opening a communication channel available for any and all developers to join, and hopefully work together. Some of the potential benefits include:
- Standardization of protocols to allow for interoperability
- Preview new developments on the various projects
- Influence proposed changes to Dogecoin to avoid harm to existing projects
- Share resources to support new entrants bringing innovation
- Create better tools for advanced developers seeking to expand or improve existing projects
Dogeparty has an opportunity to be a leading voice in the Dogecoin developer community with a deep history going back almost a decade, along with a well-established presence as a protocol with a large and enthusiastic user base.
Timothy highlighted that the new website launched by the Dogecoin Foundation (dogecoin.com) features several useful resources for Dogecoin use and discovery. It features a “Wallets” section which is anticipated to include the Dogeparty wallet, as well as a “Dogepedia” section that may be expanded in the future to help visitors discover solutions to their specific needs that are uniquely fulfilled by Dogeparty.
The 30-minute call ended on a high note with all participants eager to continue to work together to build the Dogecoin community through positive effort and cooperation.
